Bennington
Bennington battle monument in Bennington Vermont

The Bennington Battle Monument
15 Monument Circle, Bennington, VT 05201

You can't miss the monument as you drive through town. The Monument commemorates the Battle of Bennington in 1777 between the Colonial army and a British and Hessian Force. You can take an elevator to the top of the monument for a spectacular view of the countryside.

The Monument is open seasonally.

Bennington Museum

Located in Bennington, the Bennington Museum houses a great collection of Grandma Moses Art. They also have collections of glass, pottery, fine art and furniture.

Old First Church

Old First Church is the he oldest church in Vermont. The famous writer, Robert Frost, is buried in the cemetery next to the Church. It is open seasonally for visitors and holds regular services.

Park-McCullough Historic Estate

The Park-McCullough Estate is a Victorian Mansion dating back to 1865 located in North Bennington. The estate is open seasonally. The Park-McCullough family lived in the house for 100 years.

The Vermont Covered Bridge Museum

The Vermont Covered Bridge Museum is part of the Bennington Center for the Arts. It provides an in-depth look at the design, use and preservation of these beautiful bridges as well as some interactive exhibits.

Hubbardton
Hubbardton Battlefield State Historic Site

Site of a 1777 battle between the Green Mountain Boys and the  British led by General John Burgoyne. The park is open seasonally.

President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site

This is the home of the 30th President of the United States, Calvin Coolidge. Coolidge took the oath of office from his father when, while on vacation, he received the news of the death of his predecessor, Warren Harding.
